    Ian Walker  — Everyone Communicates, Few Connect


    April’s keynote speaker, Ian Walker is a highly dedicated and accomplished executive with over 25 years of leadership experience (for profit and nonprofit) in corporate communications, mergers and acquisitions, leadership coaching and development, staffing and workforce planning, compensation planning, safety and risk management, food safety, and employment law. Ian is a results-oriented strategic planner with a history of balancing staffing and business needs through continuous improvements, regulatory compliance, and risk management. He is a leader and motivator across multiple displines with a reputation for translating organizational vision into profitable business and operational concepts—human resources, sales, operations, information technology and marketing).

    Prior to joining PeopleFirst HR Solutions as a managing partner, Ian had his own consulting practice. He was head of HR at both Reinhart Foodservice and Bruce Edmeades Company, with experience in both US and Canada. He also worked in the nonprofit sector for over 10 years. Ian is a graduate of Tyndale University and Conestoga College, and is certified with Everything DiSC and John Maxwell.

    Ian will share his expertise and insights, based on the book by John Maxwell, Everyone Communicates, Few Connect on what the most effective people do differently through connecting principles and practices.
