I have worked in the Human Resources field for the last 6 years, with exposure to the service, healthcare and financial industries.  My experience has included the following areas: Payroll & Benefits, Recruiting, Onboarding, Training, Performance Management and Compliance

I am very interested in the Co-Chair Communications Director role on the LASHRM Board.I was excited to hear that the role would be a Co-Chair position, as I feel one of my strengths is in newsletter/written communication tools.I am also excited about the opportunity to work with a Co-Chair Director who has strengths in areas I can learn from in working towards achieving the goals and objectives of this role.

At River Bank, I am responsible for compiling and distributing the Employee Newsletter and Supervisor Newsletter. One of my goals in my position was to improve communication throughout our various departments and locations. I believe my experience in writing, coordinating submitted articles, editing and distributing these newsletters make me a great fit for the Co-Chair Communications Director role.  In addition, I have experience in creating and assisting in the editing of PowerPoints for informational and training purposes.  Finally, I have worked with social media websites (Facebook, Twitter) and website maintenance in my previous role at Marcus Theatres.

In regards to my participation on LASHRM committees, I joined the Communications Committee last Spring.  I have really enjoyed my experiences with LASRHM and the Communications Committee throughout the last few years, and I am eager to get more involved. I am an active LASHRM member with plans to finalize my national SHRM membership this fall.

I really enjoy marketing – especially the digital (social media/website) side of it. I have some experience in each & would love to help LASHRM out by putting those experiences to use!

Currently part of the Communications Committee with current/previous responsibility of Facebook posts/events & monthly meeting PowerPoint.I know it’s on the agenda to revamp the LASHRM website which is a project I am currently doing within the Nesnah organization. I also completed an online Marketing class through WTC this Spring being I have recently taken an interest in Marketing & have also been given some Marketing-related tasks within my role at Nesnah.
